Product facts
- Apps: iPhone: “FactLockCam: Timestamp & Proof”, version 1.0.3, seller factlockcam LLC. Android: “FactLockCam: Timestamp Proof” on Google Play.
- At capture: the app takes a SHA-256 fingerprint of the exact file. The fingerprint goes into a signed capture record, and a hash of that record is anchored on Polygon, a public ledger. Only that 32-byte hash goes on chain, never the photo. A capture made offline is anchored once the phone reconnects. Until then its public record is pending.
- Storage: the original stays encrypted in the owner's tamper-evident Archive on the device.
- Send Proof:
Send Proof shares the original as one .flcproof file the recipient checks themselves. A small proof opens in the browser from the link. A large proof opens in the free FactLockFile desktop Viewer, coming for Mac, Windows and Linux once each version is tested. You do not create a password. Media is never uploaded or stored by FactLockCam. Three results wait on the other side: the file, the signature, and the public record. Change the file. Break the match.
- What a check shows: a match shows the file is the one recorded, which is the sense of “proof” here. A mismatch shows the file differs from its earlier record, not who changed it or why. FactLockCam checks the exact file and signed record, not the physical truth of the scene.
- Location and time: reported by the device.
- Signing: the phone's device key is hardware-backed where the phone has it (Secure Enclave on iOS; StrongBox or TEE on Android). The owner signature checked at /open is made with a software key held in the phone's secure storage. Neither is hardware camera attestation.
- FactLockFile desktop Viewer: coming for Mac, Windows and Linux once each version is tested. No dates and no download link.

- Sample proof: a real photo sealed in FactLockCam on an iPhone. Download factlocking-sample.flcproof, then open this link and choose that file. The key is in the link, so there is no password. Auditors can also check the proof.json with the original photo at /verify.
