- Wide shots of the room or exterior, then close-ups of the damaged area
- Before-and-after pairs when you can capture both states
- Serial numbers, water lines, or debris that may be cleared
How FactLockCam seals the record
Capture inside the app. FactLockCam records the media fingerprint and file details, then signs a canonical manifest. When a GPS reading is available, Send Proof seals it inside the package you share. That reading is device-reported and is not part of the signed manifest. The encrypted item stays on your device.
Add context without changing the original record
Use Certificate Studio to add a title and description for the recipient. Those fields travel with the package; they do not alter the sealed media or the signed manifest hash.
Send and open without uploading
Share one .flcproof file. The app makes the unlock key, so no one types a password. A small proof opens in the recipient's browser from the link. A proof is large when the photo or video inside is 25 MiB or more. A large proof opens in the free FactLockFile desktop Viewer, coming for Mac, Windows and Linux once each version is tested. Its key comes as a note beside the file. FactLockCam does not host the file.
What the checks establish
Verification shows file integrity, signed-manifest integrity, signing-address recovery, and, when the public record is available, that the signed record existed no later than the Polygon block shown. Capture time and GPS are reported by the device. It verifies the exact file and signed record; the full scope is on the threat model page.
